AC17 - Gotham Review - LoveCraft (S1, E10)

So in the last episode of the first half of the first season, there's a lot of running, suspense, surprises and plenty of fighting. Also we get to see both Alfred and Bruce in a whole new light. So let's take a look:

So a group of assassins led by a female version of Copperhead (played by Lesley-Ann Brandt), head to Wayne Manor to get their hands on Selina Kyle who currently resides there. In a surprising turn of events, Alfred is able to fend them off to give Selina and Bruce to escape and he then allies himself with Bullock and Gordon to help find Bruce and Selina (and I have to say, does a very good job of it). Meanwhile, Harvey Dent suspects that a man called Dick Lovecraft was the man responsible for hiring the assassins to take down Selina Kyle while Cobblepot and Falcone discuss how things are going.

So yeah as I said, I never thought Alfred could kick so much ass with his fighting and shooting skills and I never thought that a young Bruce Wayne would be able to take care of himself while on the streets. Its amazing of the things you don't know about Batman. But anyway, this was a good end to what has been a very strong and enjoyable first half of the series. It bought closure to the things that require closure at this point of the series while also letting us see a glimpse into what the second half will have (and there is a bit of a twist at the end regarding Gordon which I didn't suspect at all). 9/10
