Random Video Game Review - Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

So Luigi had a whole year dedicated to him where he got the proper recognition that he deserves while Yoshi, Wario and Donkey Kong have spun into their own series of games and Peach got one game to have her do something for once instead of waiting for the Mario Bros. to go and rescue her. Now its time for Toad to get into the spotlight and its not just any Toad, but Captain Toad who some of you will remember as the one Toad that helped Mario in his adventures in Galaxy and 3D World. Speaking of 3D World, this game expands upon a series of puzzles that were seen in that particular game because of how popular it was and well, let's see if it manages to expand upon those puzzles among other things:

So as I said, the game builds upon the puzzles that were played by many in 3D World where you control Captain Toad as he goes through a puzzle to get a star which is pretty much the same thing here. It has a lot of familiar Mario stuff in it including enemies old and new, the pulling turnip element first introduced in SMB2 and other things too. Using the Wii Gamepad, you control Toad as he goes through every puzzle to rescue Toadette in a sort of Fez like way where the whole stage is shown like a 3D cube as it were which you can change the camera angles of to see where you need to go and because of his large backpack, he can't jump which makes things that little more difficult, but that's the thing that makes this game a challenge and I like challenges. I really do.

Not really much else to say. Its fun to play and most of the puzzles can be challenging, but I do feel that this game could've played out better as a downloadable only title than a retail one because the puzzles are really the only thing that's in the game. I mean there is potential for it to get DLC and I do hope that Nintendo do that for this game, but aside from the puzzles, there is really not much else to do. So now that Toad and Toadette are in their own game, now we just need one for Bowser and each one of his allies. 7/10
