TV Episode Review - Love in the Time of Hydra (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S2, E14) + Red Hood (Gotham S1, E17)

In this week's post, bank robbers draw comparisions to Robin Hood in Gotham and Agent 33 gets a bit of a backstory in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Now why this post is on later than normal is for various medical reasons, you'll have to read my previous post if you want to know more. But for now, let's tune in to some TV:

Love in the Time of Hydra
So this episode was more about giving some character development for the character of Agent 33 who thus far, hasn't really been well developed into a character. We also see this supposed true S.H.I.E.L.D. and also Skye is being put off duty because of her powers. Yep, that's the episode in a nutshell. Not a lot is happening and acts as nothing more than a means to make Agent 33 a more developed character than she has been in the past. I think the episode handled that part well, but if this is filler for the upcoming Avengers film, then that's fine. Not the best episode in my eyes, but its still enough to keep me interested.

Red Hood
So following a scenario similar to Death Race, a group of robbers arrive in Gotham to steal the banks' money, but in a odd twist, it seems that a Red Mask if you will, seems to have an effect on the robber who wears it and alters their plan in many ways. As always, Gordon, Bullock and the GCPD are on their case. Meanwhile, Cobblepot continues to struggle with his new club, but gets some help from his newly reformed body guard if you will. Mooney meets with the supposed man in charge of her and the people deep underground with some deadly consequences and Alfred meets an old friend. This episode was a very unusual one and I like it. Yeah it is considered to be another filler episode, but it does show that even a mask can be deemed to be more evil than the person who wears it. Its also nice to see a bit of tragedy in the episode and also some character development for some of the characters. So all in all, a pretty good episode, even if it was nothing more than filler. 8/10
