Random Video Game Review - Cities: Skylines

Its not easy being part of EA with the amount of controversy that the company have had over the years. Being called the worst company to work for and caring for nothing but sports and Sims when really it should be IPs like Mass Effect, Star Wars: Old Republic, Dragon Age and even Brutal Legend that they should be working on, not any of this casual game garbage. What I'm trying to get at here is that a SimCity reboot came out recently and reviewers are really getting at it, calling it a bad game that is "unreviewable" if such a word existed because of all the technical errors, network outages and the list goes on. Fortunately, a small indie video game company in Finland, caught sight of this and decided to try and bring the genre back to where it should be and make it better. Did they do a good job? Let's find out, but be warned. The city can be a dangerous place, so be prepared:

So like with SimCity, you play the role of the mayor of your own city. You can name the city, sort out the city's electricity and water supply, choose zones for residents, workers and other things, deal with loans and taxes and so much more. Its in every way, like SimCity, but on a more user friendly scale in the sense that you're not left clueless on what to do and there is plenty of help avalible when you need it. And if you've run out of money, it won't take a long time for money to come in. Each day is literally a minute or so long so there is that as well.

Now I can't really say for the SimCity crowd on whether its better than that game or not as I've only ever played one game in that entire series which was number 4 and well, I didn't really enjoy it as much as I would've wanted to. But as for this game, its good. Its a great city building simulator that builds upon everything that SimCity had, but goes that extra mile to make it more user friendly for people who are inexperienced in these sorts of games and also expands upon those things. If you're just wanting to be mayor of your own city and would rather know what to do than be left clueless, then this is the game for you. 9/10
