Movie Review - Everest

So in addition to that last post, I thought to give you guys a couple of bonus posts before we enter the month of October where this blog will be super busy with stuff to do with Halloween (among other things). The first of these is a film that is based on a true story and has the intensity that Gravity had (or at the very least, tries to have), only this time, its on one of the biggest mountains in the world (and if I were doing videos, I would've done my Jeremy Clarkson impression here). So hold on tight as we climb Mount Everest:

In the year of 1996, two expeditions, one called Adventure Consultants which was led by Rob Hall (played by the 4th man to play John Conner in the Terminator series as well as that human who helps the apes in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Jason Clarke) and 2 other guides and the other called Mountain Madness led by Scott Fischer (played by the incredibly talented (and eye candy for the ladies) Jake Gyllenhaal), meet at a base camp to prepare to summit Mount Everest over a set number of days. Among the clients that join in this journey is Texan Beck Weathers (played by the young Agent K, Josh Brolin) who has been climbing for 10 years, Doug Hansen (played by John Hawkes) who decided to do this to prove that an ordinary man can pursue an extraordinary dream, and Yasuko Namba (played by someone who Torchwood fans will recognise, Naoko Mori) who has previously climbed 6 of the 7 summits and hopes to complete that list with Everest as well as attempting to be the oldest woman to climb the summits. Rob hopes to be back from this expedition to be with his wife (played by the talented and somewhat attractive, Keira Knightley) at the birth of their daughter who he wants to call Sarah, but his wife says otherwise. Some will live, some will die, but for everyone, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

So based on trailers, most of us would've gone into this thinking that its a full on adrenaline rush, but seeing it, only the second half is that while the first half is all about prepping up for the journey ahead which is fine, but makes the 3D pointless. The acting is very good which I expect nothing more from the all star cast we get here, it feels accurate to the real life events but I'm sure most people may say something else to that and its one of these few films where I just kept thinking that Jason's character would survive and this is coming from someone who didn't know about this being a true story. Not a spoiler, but that can hint to something that happens in the film. Great film and certainly one to experience. 9/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
