Back to the Future Day Special - Reviews and other things at 88 miles per hour

So while we have 4th of May as Star Wars Day, the year of 2015 marks a special occasion for Back to the Future in that this is the year Marty McFly goes to in film II and had a lot of things going for it. But surprisingly, their take on 2015 was pretty accurate and here's why:

  • 3D is now mainstream
  • We can watch at least 2 things at once through smart TVs
  • No hoverboards yet, but these electric scooters come pretty close
  • Wearable technology is becoming mainstream thanks to mobile watches and AR headsets
  • Video calls are now possible via Skype and smart phones
  • Thanks to the Kinect, hands free gaming is possible
  • Tablet computers are now mainstream
  • And Nike are working on self-tying shoes
So its not entirely accurate, but most of these things were seen in Part II and are very much real to this day. While Google are working on cars that drive themselves, no flying cars (for now) and fax machines are now dead. So with that out of the way, let's do some reviews. Now as some of you may recall, I put in the first film in my top 100 all time favourite films list so today, I'm going to do a short but sweet review of the 2 sequels so let's go:

  • Part II - Loved it. I liked the 2015 they showed, I liked how an alternate future could cause bad things to happen. And I also like how both Marty and Doc were doing more stuff than in the last film. 9/10
  • Part III - I am in agreement with most people that Part III isn't very good, but for what its worth, I found it enjoyable. There are a lot of time periods to choose from, but the western times didn't really do much for the finale of the original trilogy. 7/10
And lastly, a review of some LEGO Back to the Future stuff:

  • Delorean set - So this was a set that LEGO made as part of the LEGO Cusscoo (now known as LEGO Ideas) programme where people can submit ideas for LEGO sets which if successful, will get a share of the set's profits. The Delorean was certainly a fun build. You can make the Delorean into each of its 3 forms from the 3 films and it comes with a hoverboard and 2 minifigures which I'm sure you all know who they are. Its perfect for any fan. 9/10
  • Level Pack for LEGO Dimensions - So TT Games and WB Games picked Back to the Future as part of a series of franchises to be seen in LEGO Dimensions which is LEGO's take on the toys to life market. Among the sets released for the game, is a Back to the Future Level Pack which contains Marty, a buildable mini Delorean and a hoverboard as well as a level for the game. The level is basically a cut down version of the first film which despite being short, was quite enjoyable. You can also get a Doc Brown fun pack which contains the character along with the train time machine from Part III. 8/10
So that's all I can say for this time. I know its short but sweet, but when a post says 88 miles per hour, you have to live up to that any way you can. Have a great day fans. :D
