Video Game Review - Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia

Well that was very short lived. I'm shocked. Well not every trilogy will last for long as most of us know, but I think its fair to say that the Chronicles series had a lot going for it, but after 2 games, I think most of us knew that they were just the same game over and over again, just in different time periods. This time, we go to Russia so let's see if the final game is any good:

So much like before, the game plays out like a 2D platformer with all the usual gameplay mechanics that the series is known for and as I said, this time, we're in 1918 Russia during the aftermath of the October Revolution. Our playable character is one Nikolai Orelov who wishes to leave with his family, but is required to do one last mission for the Assassins in order to do so. There's not really much else to say other than you're just doing what you did in previous games, just with a new character, new weapons and a new historical period to play around in.

In my opinion, when you get a game that is the third of a series and acts out like playing the first game 3 times, that's bad. Really bad. But having said that, the graphics still look great regardless and even though we may not be getting a big Assassin's Creed game this year, I'm sure these and the long library of games that the franchise has had over the years, will suffice. 6/10
