Boxes of Stuff - March 2016

This time, Nerd Block takes us on a Hero's Quest (yes even though I had my doubts, they are still doing themes), Loot Crate has the likes of superheroes and aliens among others battling it out and Geek Fuel gives us items from the likes of DC, Zelda and the master of cameos himself, Stan Lee:

Nerd Block - Hero's Quest
With a theme like Hero's Quest, this normally revolves around stories to do with a hero's journey to becoming the person he is destined to be or something like that. So from Game of Thrones, we got two figures from Funko, one of them being Grey Worm and the other being Tyrion Lannister and pretty good quality on both. From Batman V Superman (because you have to have an item from that film in the month its released), we got a wooden plaque with an interesting image of all the heroes from the film in a style that resembles graffiti which looks pretty cool and I will no doubt have that hang on my wall. From The Karate Kid, we get an autograph which will be either Martin Kove (who played John Kreese) or William Zabka (who played Johnny Lawrence) and I got the former, they both play villains in the first film. From Daredevil, we get a pretty cool t-shirt which again, you have to have an item from because it returned to Netflix last month. And finally from Arrested Development (which does feel a little bit out of place I have to admit), we get a fridge magnet set and I don't know the show that well, so we're just going to leave it there. A pretty packed but good box this month. Some items do feel a little bit out of place, but on the whole, it sticks to the theme well.

Geek Fuel
As always, Geek Fuel tends to not go with themes and instead gives us random items, but good random items at that. From Legend of Zelda, we have a poster of Link and his shield which looks quite nice. From Marvel legend Stan Lee, we get a book about his life in the form of a graphic novel (and its quite entertaining, but a little bit serious at moments as well). Our Steam game for March 2016 is Dinocide which as the name implies, has something to do with dinosaurs. And also from Batman V Superman is a t-shirt of the five main characters' eyes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Alexander Luthor and Doomsday) and another figure from Funko which is random for everyone I believe (I got Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman out of her costume and no not in that way). A pretty decent box with some great items. Can't really complain here.

Loot Crate - Versus
Being in the spirit of the whole hero vs hero thing, Loot Crate were wise enough to have Versus as a theme because it just wouldn't make sense if it wasn't related to the releases in March. So from Alien VS Predator, we get one of two figures which can be an Alien or a Predator (I got the former). From Daredevil, we have a beanie hat which can change to be red for Daredevil or black for Punisher which makes sense seeing as the new series has Punisher debut into the MCU. From Star Trek, we get a t-shirt which has Spock pitted against his evil alternate universe twin (even though I am a bit of a Star Trek fan, I don't know a great deal about the franchise like I do with others so I apologise if I get any information wrong). Coming from DC, we have a sealed comic book to do with Harley Quinn (the Deadpool of the DC Universe, minus the 4th wall breaking) and a Batman V Superman wallet. Our pin badge for March gives us a digital comic on Alien VS Predator. I think this box is OK, but I feel that some of the items could've been better. Also before I forget, Loot Crate also now have another app for smart phones which can be used at parties so go check that out

This month is a no brainer as Geek Fuel was the best one this month in my opinion in terms of items which while are random, are all very good items. Nerd Block was great too, but the Arrested Development item does feel a bit out of place. And as for Loot Crate, some items were good, but the majority could've been better given that the hat is a missed oppurtunity now that we are in spring, the Alien figure while great I prefer to just have one figure of as I already have an Alien figure and the wallet, I mean of all the Batman V Superman items to get in the March boxes, that one just felt like the worst of it.

Now I tend to forget to put these links on these posts, but if you guys are interested in getting any of these boxes, go to the links below. By now, these boxes have sold out, but you still have time to get your hands on April's boxes if you're interested:

Geek Fuel - Bonus items when you go for the bigger subscription packages

Loot Crate - Other crates they do include pets, anime, gaming, LVL Up (which is clothing), Firefly (this is bi-monthly) and DX (which is Loot Crate, but more expensive and better items). They also occasionally do limited edition crates for specific franchises or a variety.

Nerd Block - In addtion to their regular block, they also do blocks for things like Horror, Gaming, Comics, Sci-Fi and blocks for young children which are gender specific so there's one for boys and one for girls.

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
