Random Movie Review - Pineapple Express

The duo of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. This duo have done a number of films together, often being comedy which fits well with Rogen's stance in the comedy genre. Now for the most part, their films have had a mixed to positive reception which in my eyes means the films are not perfect, but are watchable and can be enjoyable. Plus I also find that the people used in their films are always the same people which can potentially make up a group of actors similar to the Frat Pack (consisting of the likes of Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell and Jack Black). So I've reviewed at least one of their films before in the past and now we have another one of theirs which is all about stoners. So let's look into it:

So we meet a process server called Dale (played by Rogen) and his marijuana dealer friend Saul (played by James Franco) who are both living the good life. That is until they come across a dangerous drug lord called Ted Jones (no relation, played by Gary Cole) who proves to be a major threat to them and so they are forced to flee, but where they choose to go, is one big mystery.

While I feel that I've seen better films with Rogen and Goldberg being behind it, this film is truly one that shows how drugs can really affect you and change you for better or worse (in most cases the latter). Plus it also shows that messing with the drug business is bad. Now at the time that this film came out, Breaking Bad had just started and while both show how bad drug dealing can be, Breaking Bad does it in a way that makes it interesting while Pineapple Express does it in a way that makes it funny, but informative too. Winners don't do drugs as they say. 9/10
