About this time last year, I reviewed season 1 of Daredevil which I got to admit is a much better attempt at adapting Daredevil than how Fox's film handled it. But having said that, making a second season after a great season 1 is no easy task for any show as most first seasons often wrap things up nicely at the end and would only feel the need to carry on if the network (or in this case, the streaming service) found it popular enough. Netflix often tend to have some very good shows that often get renewed because of how good and popular they are and fortunately, Daredevil got its season 2 and manages to do quite well. So let's take a look:
Oh and if you haven't seen all of season 1, expect some spoilers. You have been warned.
So following Frisk (reprised by Vincent D'Onofrio) being sent to prison for his actions in Hell's Kitchen, Matt Murdock (aka Daredevil, reprised by Charlie Cox) continues doing his duty as a lawyer alongside Foggy (reprised by Elden Henson) and Karen Page (reprised by Deborah Ann Woll) while also protecting Hell's Kitchen as Daredevil. In this season we meet The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal) who starts a case that attracts the attention of Nelson & Murdock, but could also see their downfall. And we also meet Elektra (played by Elodie Yung) an old associate of Murdock who also was his lover at one point who seeks out the help of Daredevil.
Its a pretty interesting season that introduces new characters, but also sees a much darker side of the MCU much like with the previous season. After watching all the episodes in this season, I was left questioning whether the show would continue or not seeing as it ends with a bright future for some, but a dark one for others. But I know this won't be the last we see of Daredevil. A great season 2 and I look forward to seeing more of our favourite protector of Hell's Kitchen. 9/10
