Boxes of Stuff - October 2017

So I decided to do this post a little earlier than normal seeing as the boxes I receive nowadays generally come way before the next month starts. But anyway, in this set of boxes there are some Stranger Things plus Batman in Geek Fuel while Marvel Collector Corps answers the debate on who truly is the strongest Avenger:

Marvel Collector Corps - Thor Ragnarok
So there is one thing that is different about this box which is that its actually much smaller than before. But that could be because of the items that are in it. So as always, there is a collectible pin which is of the film's main antagonist Hela and looks much rounder than before. Then also as always we have a couple of Pop figures which are Thor and Loki in their Thor: Ragnarok attire and both look great. The next few items are largely a first for the box so one item is a Hulk themed beanie hat which looks great. Next there is a set of badges which have 4 of the main characters on them. Probably the most disappointing of the items is the pack of playing cards and I say disappointing because apart from the back of them, they aren't really showing any of the characters on them (i.e. Thor as king, Loki as joker and so on). Last but by no means least, we got a fidget spinner with three heroes on one side and three villains on the other side. So while its not a packed box, it has some nice stuff in there but a bit too much on the character side of things (not saying that's a bad thing or anything).

Geek Fuel
If anything, I personally feel that having Stranger Things as the main focus around Halloween is appropriate in a way seeing as one episode of season 2 just so happens to take place on Halloween itself. So all the Stranger Things items come in a box advertising waffles and while there aren't any waffles inside, we do however get a cool t-shirt of Eleven holding a waffle with the upside down just below. along with that, there is also a waffle air freshener if you ever want to have your car or whatever smell like waffles. And then the final item from Stranger Things is a mug which looks great. So moving on, we also have a Batman item which is a fridge magnet version of a t-shirt that Geek Fuel gave me some time ago which is basically a mashup between the late Adam West's Batman and Pac-Man (of the two, I'd say the fridge magnets are better). The magazine the Geek Fuel often has, has got itself a 3D cover so obviously 3D glasses are needed and that's what I got. The pin this time is based on monsters typically associated with Halloween as well as the horror genre and of the five, I got Hannibal which is nice and it came out in the form of a VHS tape which was neat. Finally, the Steam game this time is Death By Gameshow which is of $10 in value and I'm sure I will have some fun with it. So I'd say this box is a very well curated box which is good.

This time is a no brainier because even though I did get some good items in Marvel Collector Corps, the box was smaller than it has been in the past and the playing cards were quite disappointing. So Geek Fuel wins mainly because of the genius packaging of some of the items as well as it had some other items despite largely focusing on Stranger Things. Please click on the links if you want to get Geek Fuel and Marvel Collector Corps yourself and the next one will be in January.

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
