AC7: Random Video Game Review - Duck Season

Its been a while since I last talked about a VR game. Since then, a lot of new ones have been released and when money allows me, I buy a few to check them out. Today we look at a game that takes inspiration from an old but well known NES game called Duck Hunt which recently got a renewed interest with the inclusion of Duck Hunt Duo in the last Smash Bros. game. This isn't a remake nor is it a sequel. But rather a non-Nintendo reimagining of said game with a VR twist. This should be interesting so let's grab our hunting rifles and check it out:

Set in the summer of 1988, you play as a boy who's mom just rented the supposedly coolest new game for the boy's fake NES. The game is called Duck Season and as the game progresses, something isn't quite right about it. So the game is basically a more realistic Duck Hunt and almost plays out like such. But following suite with the most recent horror games, the game is a bit twisted and depending on your actions, a variety of endings are at your disposal. As well as a bunch of Easter Eggs and references to 80s pop culture.

So this game is good. Its not quite like Duck Hunt, but its the closest we will get to having a full on remake. Then again if we were to have a remake, I'd doubt Nintendo would make it as dark and twisted as this. Still it is a good VR game. Some slight technical issues such as the occasional frame rate drop as well as the fact that its a stand up game, but its all ok. Definitely not for kids though. 8/10
