Boxes of Stuff - February 2018

This time Geek Fuel travels to Wakanda and Little China with the Belmonts and some ninjas, IGN goes to some kingdoms and My Geek Box enters the Oasis with Iron Man, Batman, Loki and a Stormtrooper:

Geek Fuel
So with the month of February seeing the release of Black Panther, most geek boxes this time will be having at least one item from the film as it is with many big releases and Geek Fuel is no exception. So the Black Panther item isn't a figure, but it is a small poster of the great king of Wakanda and two versions of it exist. From Big Trouble In Little China, we have Geek Fuel's monthly pin badge which is a character from the film (I got Jack Burton) and as always, there are a few that exist with one being a rare pin. From Castlevania is the t-shirt which although pretty standard, is white with the cover of the very first game on the front (very nostalgic indeed). From what I can only guess is Ninja Gaiden, we have a couple of fridge magnets that look like those sharp spinning weapons like Batman's batarangs. And our Steam game this time at $10 value is Ratz. Not the best box in my opinion, but some nice items inside so it's not all bad.

IGN Box - Kingdoms
Its good to know that some boxes still like doing themes and IGN may have random items, but they are good random items which is ok. The theme is Kingdoms and from the kingdom of Wakanda, we have a keyring which looks pretty nice. From the kingdom of Westeros and Essos, we have a metal plate with the quote "The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors" which is true in some parts of the world. From the kingdom of Mushrooms, we have a ? Block mug which is very nice. From the kingdom of Mobius (or wherever Sonic comes from), we have a bunch of socks which kind of resemble Green Hill Zone and Dr. Eggman. And finally from the kingdom of Animals, we have a t-shirt of all the animals and creatures that many of us gamers have come across over the years. Its a very well curated box that has a lot to like and I know and like all the franchises so I'm happy.

My Geek Box
My Geek Box is probably the most random geek box there is as far as items and franchises are concerned. Nothing from Black Panther in this box but there is some other stuff so let's have a look. So from Marvel, we have a Iron Man LP of the first film and a Loki fridge magnet in his comic book apperance which are both good even though I don't have a LP player at the time of writing this up. From Batman, we have a travel mug of the caped crusader in his appearance from the Silver and Bronze Age of comics. From Star Wars we got a Stormtrooper mini poster which isn't anything special I find. Finally from Ready Player One, we got a t-shirt which looks very retro indeed. Its as random as its going to get with some ok items and some good items.

So Geek Fuel had very little in the way of items and not so well known franchises. IGN Box was very well curated with lots of great items. My Geek Box was way too random this time and despite having Marvel items, neither were to do with Black Panther. IGN Box wins this time.

Too late to get these boxes now, but do click the links to sign up for March's boxes.
