Random Double TV Season Review - The Gifted (Season 1) + Legion (Season 2)

In the midst of the Disney and Fox deal, we got two shows that deserve some attention. Previously I reviewed the first season of Legion and despite me finding it very bizarre and weird, I thought it was pretty good. Now with Fox having another show set in their X-Men Film Universe, I decided to wait until season two of Legion before talking about The Gifted and now the time has come to review them both. So let's get to it:

The Gifted (Season 1)
Set in an alternate universe in which the X-Men are all but wiped out, two parents discover that their two children are mutants themselves and in a struggle to survive, they join an underground community consisting of mutants from all forms of life. But all sharing the goal of survival and taking on things like the Sentinel program and other threats to ensure their survival. All while realising their full potential as mutants. The first season was a good one I think. It has a big focus on the lack of equal rights and the whole idea of mutants being too powerful for humans to comprehend. Despite the lack of well known actors, the majority of the actors that the show has all play their parts well and some are quite likable too. So yeah a great start to the series and let's hope that the deal allows it to keep going. 9/10

Legion (Season 2)
So as far as I can describe it, this season of Legion has David (reprised by Dan Stevens) pursues the Shadow King (played by Navid Negahban) following him being rescued by his friends in a series of episodes that show us just how powerful David is and the risks he is willing to take to become the most powerful but also the most dangerous mutant there is. Despite the weirdness and bizarreness of the season, this one has a lot of great episodes with the highlights for me being a dance off, a fight of mentality and seeing David in a more darker sense of his character. Its well acted as always and anyone wanting something with great visuals and doesn't mind the randomness it holds will enjoy this show and will probably find it pretty awesome like I did. And with a third season confirmed, its going to take a lot for that to beat this great season. 9/10
