Random Movie Review - Teen Titans Go! VS Teen Titans

Well it was going to happen eventually. I mean Teen Titans Go! has for years been compared unfavourably to Teen Titans as being silly and more in line with the humour that is traditionally used in Cartoon Network shows. Whereas Teen Titans is serious and got anime style animation and was for a long time the first attempt at actually making the Teen Titans look like teens which is greatly different from the comics and everyone loved it. But there is a fanbase for Teen Titans Go! (as surprising as that sounds) because they at least attempted to make the superhero team more child friendly while keeping with the latest trends and so forth. So here we are with what would become the inevitable film that pits both teams against one another. Its what we all wanted even those who just wanted the original show back. So let's get to it:

On the Go! earth, the Teen Titans battle the Gentlemen Ghost (voiced by music parody legend "Weird Al" Yankovic) who uses his powers to possess each of the Titans. But upon entering the mind of Raven (reprised by Tara Strong), he accidentally breaks her crystal and thus unleashes her inner demonic powers which quickly finish him off. Upon returning to base, Trigon (reprised by Kevin Michael Richardson) appears and offers to take away her powers to prevent further damage to her crystal. Knowing full well that he may just be taking them to become all powerful, Raven refuses and leaves being unaware of her father's true intentions. Soon after, the Titans are then kidnapped and are put inside an arena where they must fight their 2003 selves with both Earths hanging in the balance. But this soon becomes a ruse for a much greater threat that forces both teams to work together before all hell breaks loose.

When I compare this film to Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, I find it to actually be a lot better. I mean that film was OK at best and did what it set out to do. But with this one, I feel a sense of joy in that it's doing what the fans have been asking for. It manages to give us the best of each version of the team (as any crossover should do). It also giving us some shocking moments, some humorous moments and even a point where they go and not just meet Santa Claus, but also explore the multiverse (for whatever reason that may be) in what could be DC's many attempts at having its multiverse be explored in other mediums besides comics. Great fun, well worth a watch and who knows maybe you will give Teen Titans Go! a shot after watching this or check out/rewatch the more beloved Teen Titans. 9/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
