Random TV Season Review - Titans (Season 2)

I guess the studio executives really liked this more darker, maturer and somewhat realistic take on the Titans so much that another season would be on the way and this is it. I can kind of see why its only being called Titans as most of the characters are long past their teenage days which makes sense. Plus with some new blood in the mix as well as it having a line up that is reminicent of the comics, this is shaping up to be its best season. Also no one spoiled it for me this time so it gets a more meaningful score than last time. So let's get to it and be aware of some spoilers if you have yet to see the first season:

So after dealing with Trigon (played by Seamus Dever), Dick (reprised by Brenton Thwaites) goes about reforming the Titans and seeks help from Bruce Wayne (played by Game of Thrones star Iian Glen) and after reconciling with him, he does just that and the team then live at a base in San Francisco known as Titans Tower. All seems well until Deathstroke (played by Esai Morales) learns of them resurfacing and comes out of retirement to enact revenge on them for his long dead son (though his sub-concious remains inside him). That plus Cadmus have a new weapon to use on the team which has some Kryptionian stuff among other things too.

As we get more of this show, I come to realise that all three TV shows based around the Titans are tailored to different audiences. Teen Titans is for those that like a bit of humor that's balanced out with great stories, loveable characters and a fanbase that longs for the day of their return to the small screen. Teen Titans Go! is for those that like all the silliness of a typical Cartoon Network show that doesn't take itself too seriously and often pokes fun at itself while also being a satire of a typical superhero show or film. And finally Titans is for those who want something that is more closer to the source material in almost every way aside from the costumes, the realistic takes on classic stories and removing "teen" from the name to account for the ages of the actors. But yeah its still a good show that's worth watching and definitely up there as being among DC's best shows even for one that only those with the ability to stream can watch (though the rest of us can watch it also after a few years on live TV). 9/10
