Random Video Game Review - Superhot

So the best way to describe this game is that it is a first-person shooter unlike any you may have played before. Its also got an interesting history as its one of those games that keeps getting content long after its release. Seriously this game was released in 2016 and the last time it had new content was earlier this month. I guess it shows that some developers just want to keep bringing new things to the game even though its now four years old. So let's take a look at this seemingly innovative game:

The game's plot is one that like similar games, is a break the fourth wall kind of plot. You get a copy of the titular game (with ".exe" on the end) from a friend who tells you that you can access it through a crack. After accessing the game, the player gets thrown in a series of unconnected levels each with a different point of view and all with the idea being to kill all hostiles. After receiving a version of the game that has apparently had all the glitches fixed, both the player and his or her friend carry on playing despite protests from a being claiming to be the creator of the game and then things just get more and more complicated and over the top from there. Gameplay puts the players in a very restrictive environment in which weapons break easily and have limited ammunition with the only way to obtain new weapons is by killing the hostiles. To make things even more difficult, the player gets killed by one shot with only real time happening when shots are fired and you have to use a certain control to pick up weapons. Rest of the time its in slow motion. But on the other hand, time going slowly allows players to examine the environment and plan their moves.

With a wide array of weapons and lots to do to get through this game, this game is excellent. Innovative and can be easily compared to Portal in terms of its length and how it's all about puzzle solving. Plus with there now being so many platforms to play the game on, there is lots of choice for the player. So yeah worth playing if you want something different to the traditional first-person shooter. 9/10
