About a year after Disneyland Adventures came out, Xbox Game Studios (then known as Microsoft Studios) went ahead to make another game. This time, the focus would be on Pixar and the hub world would be a lot smaller, but made up for with different Pixar worlds to explore. It is true that loads of people really enjoy Pixar films even now while they release all sorts of stuff on Disney+ which isn't just their films and shorts, but other things too. So let's see what this game gives us:
So like with Disneyland Adventures, you play as a non-vocal user created child who goes on a school trip to a place called Pixar Park. There, the player can decide which Pixar world they want to visit, being their own character instead of an in-universe character which makes sense given that you are playing as a user created character anyway. While it isn't all the Pixar films and shorts, you get to go into the worlds of their most well known and beloved franchises including Toy Story, The Incredibles, Cars and Finding Nemo (remaster only for that last) as well as the films Up and Ratatouille. The iconic lap mascot also makes an appearance as do the birds from For the Birds and a few other Pixar Easter Eggs too.
Much like its predecessor game, Rush gives us that chance to escape our world as it is now to enjoy being part of some of the best Pixar things out there. It's definitely one for the fans like me and what I like about this game when compared to the previous game is how it actually makes an effort in the remaster to add new content. I say this because the Disneyland Adventures remaster didn't add much new content especially as it was released after Disney made a few acquisitions that would've made most of the rides you find in the real Disney theme parks, be possible to add. But overall, this game is pretty decent. One for fans definitely, but if you are after a bit more, there's other games out there (loads of them are on Steam at the moment). 7/10
