Random Video Game Review - Gang Beasts

We've had a lot of fighting games over the years. There's the traditional arcade one on one which would later be expanded to do team fights with swaps and in more recent years, take advantage of your surroundings among other things. Then there was the 4 player fighting game first introduced in the very first Super Smash Bros. which many non-Nintendo developers have tried to replicate with some success, but not quite as innovative. And then came this, a game that is very much a fighting game, but on a sillier style of gameplay. Originally published by Double Fine and then independently by Boneloaf with Skybound handling the physical form of it, this looks to be one of those games that YouTubers could make countless videos of (and many of them probably did). Let's take a look:

Set in the fictional Beef City, Gang Beasts has you and others play as big floppy characters and fight melee style with hazardous environments. The game's overall goal is for each player to knock one another out and then attempt to toss each other onto hazardous things. But every player that gets knocked out, can come back and fight, assuming they button mash to be released.

Not really much else to say about this game. It's very colourful and, although not completely innovative, it's fun and silly. Still proves to everyone that indie developers are still around making games and hoping that people like them and give money to play them. 8/10
