This is a non-story survival game played from a third-person perspective. You, as the player, control a member of a primate clan in prehistoric Africa and as with most survival games, it must survive by eating, drinking, sleeping and preferably not die. You are in a jungle to begin with that is full of animals that were around during the prehistoric era of Earth. You can climb trees like a real primate and explore new areas, but be prepared to tackle your animal's fear, or it will go into a state of hysteria. Your primate has heightened senses, which helps with finding certain things. It also has intelligence that can help pinpoint locations of things. Both of which will get better over time. Your clan can grow, but if all the primates die, you have to restart from the beginning, so bear that in mind. Your ultimate goal is to ensure your clan's survival as it evolves and becomes a new species. This can include switching between each member, do a few social tasks and manage a skill tree that is both shared with your clan and future generations.
This is a good game. Its visuals are very realistic (but not too much), the open-ended side of it works well (even though there is an end goal) and there is always something new to find in this game that apparently can last up to 50 hours long. Of course, if anyone really had that time to actually put the work into it. But yeah, a good game worth playing if you like evolution and survival. 9/10
