Random Movie Review - Bullet Train

So last week, I watched quite a few newly released films that I haven't reviewed yet. Rather than have a long post reviewing them all, I decided to spread them out, and we are going to start with this one. Based on a Japanese dark comedic thriller book, this film is kind of like how one would go about making a funny stylistic and violent film, in a similar vein to DC's Suicide Squad and Harley Quinn films and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and later Thor films. Yes, it's that kind of film where it doesn't matter whether it's good or bad. You just want to have a good time, and that's exactly what you are going to get here. I haven't seen Brad Pitt in a comedy film for quite a long time and I guess for most of the actors, this can be considered new territory for them, so that's kinda nice. So let's get on this train and see just what kind of action takes place:

The film is centred on a group of characters boarding the "Hayate" train on the Tohoku Shinkansen that's bound for Morioka. They all have one thing in common at first, which is they are all hitmen. The first is Ladybug (played by Brad Pitt) who boards the train to acquire a briefcase. Said briefcase is in the possession of twin hitmen brothers Tangerine (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his Thomas and Friends obsessed "brother" Lemon (played by Brian Tyree Henry) who are escorting the briefcase and a boy of sorts to Kyoto where his father is waiting. The trio and other various hitmen and assassins spend much of the journey trying to avoid one another and fighting before it becomes obvious that they may all be on the train for a common reason, and not a pleasant one at that.

If I'm being completely honest here, I had more fun with this film than I did with Thor: Love and Thunder in terms of what it's trying to do here. It's very entertaining, very funny and even spends time adding an emotional element to it. Really enjoyable film that is worth watching, even if it's not as perfect as we would like. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
