Random Video Game Review - Pumpkin Jack

How very appropriate for this time of year. A game that very much embodies Halloween with the iconic jack-o-lantern, and it's creepy and scary vibes. I got this off a Humble Choice bundle not too long ago, and it was published by Headup which I have a few games of. Many of which are pretty good. Nothing that screams triple A mind you, but a lot of them exist for people to just have a good time, which I'm sure a few of us will get here. So let's take a look at the game that people are calling the game that can ignite the Halloween spirit:

Players play as the titular Jack, known to many as the mystical Pumpkin Lord, who is tasked with annihilating good to spread evil across the otherworldly land. As you play, you will face a few combat parts which are all done in real time so players must master the art of dodging, timing and doing combos moves. Using weapons too, but always make sure to pick the right one for the situations you face. There are also puzzles with a focus on physics, gravity and reflection. Some may require Jack to loosen his head just to solve them or just to burn books, hammer some moles, create paths for magic spheres and many more. All levels have new challenges to face, which I guess keeps the game interesting. Some characters you come across will help you, such as an owl and a snarky crow.

With pretty visuals and fresh challenges, this is actually a pretty fun platforming game. It embodies the Halloween spirit really well, and it's pretty good. Not quite the standard that games such as those from the Super Mario, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro franchises have set, but good all the same. Definitely worth playing at this time of year, though. 8/10
