Random TV Season Review - Star Wars: The Bad Batch (Season 2)

Recently, I decided to disregard the sequel trilogy. The reason is that I feel it follows the likes of how the Fantastic Beasts, Jurassic World and most recent Halloween trilogy of films. First one is good, second one is a mixed bag and the final one is bad. This seems to be happening a lot with trilogies of films that are part of a larger franchise, with a lot of the blame for the quality being on behind the scenes stuff and just a p*** poor story overall. For example, the final film in the sequel trilogy made out that Darth Vader's sacrifice was all for nothing and felt like it was playing too safe by bringing back Palpatine without any sort of build up or revelation that he is back. However, not everything Disney have done so far with Star Wars has been bad. The franchise overall is flourishing with its many original series on Disney+ thanks largely to the success of The Mandalorian in comparison to Disney's other assets like Marvel who are not doing as well as they used to. There's also Pixar with their strange decisions, but also reliance on trying to push themselves and the live action remakes continue to feel unneeded and the new/current generation of children, care very little for them over the original films. Anyway, we have another season if that one squad of Clones that defied orders during the Purge of the Jedi (also known as Order 66), so let's get to it:

So, following from the previous season, the Bad Batch crew are now mercenaries and take on various jobs. Among the jobs they take on this season, they attempt to claim Count Dooku's war chest while avoiding the empire in the process. Meanwhile, a few clones begin to question if they really are doing good in the galaxy or not. But regardless, things may soon take place that would change the squad for better or worse.

The second season continues the idea of having a show for diehard fans while tailoring to casual audiences, and it's a solid season with pretty much little to no fillers. Well, maybe one or two here and there, but overall, hardly any. Not sure where things will go moving forward, but it is one of the few things George Lucas wanted to happen, so I'd say that's a good thing that this show is around. Even if the animation is a little bit blocky and ugly. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2
