Random TV Season Review - Titans (Season 4)

Well, here it is. The final season of the live action Teen Titans (minus the "Teen" bit, because not all of them are technically teenagers). It's certainly been interesting to see how a live action take on the superhero team would work. Not only is it that, but it's also quite serious when compared to its animated counterparts. Of course, the OG Teen Titans animated series will always be the best one with it being largely serious, but balanced out with humour. Then there's the few animated films which are more or less as you'd expect from an anime looking Teen Titans. Finally, the Go! series which is very much a dumbed down version of the OG one. This one is certainly different and very much focused on the main stars without the frequent need of the adult superheroes, but they do get a mention and/or appearance in places. Not really sure if I really wanted this show to end because its been solid, but also not left much of an impression on me. Sure, the cast (as awesome and good-looking as they are) are talented and play their parts well. But I still have a soft spot for the OG animated series. Anyway, let's see what awaits the team in this final fourth season:

Split into two parts, the team face the prospect of having to deal with a cult that want to bring Trigon (this time played by Craig Burnatowski) back and also come to terms with their respective destinies that have apparently been written. Also, Beast Boy (reprised by Ryan Potter) has a multiversal adventure which includes a reunion with the Doom Patrol team and the being known as Jinx (played by Lisa Ambalavanar) is recruited to help with the threat the cult brings. That and a video game developer is caught in the middle of all this.

The final season is, pretty good. It wraps up all loose ends, gives each of the main characters a chance to shine once more, and even more Robins join the group. Good fun, plenty of action and a conclusion that feels satisfactory and also hopeful. It may have a comic continuation for all we know. 8/10
