Random Video Game Review - Star Wars: Jedi Survivor

Now I know if you see this, you might be thinking that I haven't finished it yet in my YouTube series. But I've put in a few hours into this now, and I feel I've done enough to warrant a review. So 4 years ago in a desperate attempt to make amends for the loot box issue in the Battlefront games, EA sought to make a single player only experience that makes you feel like a Jedi inside and out with a journey to regain your connection to the Force. That game was Jedi Fallen Order, which was very well received and a welcome change of pace for EA's Star Wars games. Now 4 years later, we have a sequel that, as all sequels should do, aims to be like its predecessor, but better or at the very least improved. Let's see what we get here:

Five years after the previous game, Cal Kestis (reprised by Cameron Monaghan) continues the fight against the Empire, now as a resistance fighter working under Saw Gerrera. He ends up on the Imperial capital world Coruscant to find some military data from one of the senators that is loyal to Palpatine (though by force in this particular Senator's case). Upon receiving this data and learning that the Empire are still going strong despite his efforts, he sets out to reunite with his allies from the first game and help in their respective efforts to survive the tyranny of the Empire. Much of the gameplay from the previous game, returns here alongside stances for lightsaber combat of which there are 5 to use (3 coming from the previous game) with one allowing the use of a blaster in addition to the lightsaber. You also have some new Force abilities too, one of which comes from Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens. The designs of the worlds are now much larger and bigger. In particular, there are far more NPCs when compared to the last game. While the last game really only had the Mantis as the main hub, you now have not just that, but also the planet Koboh which has its own town which can be upgraded and with each visit, comes more pathways and other stuff. With the worlds now being very expansive, this means that the meditation points have a fast travel option should you need it.

Technical issues aside (which I'm getting too despite waiting a little while till after its release), it's a decent sequel to what was a good change of pace for EA's Star Wars games. This one isn't perfect as the story, to some, may be a little bland in places. But at least now, I feel able to do other stuff besides the story, and it's not just optional boss battles or easy to miss loot this time around. Credit to the developers for doing what a sequel should be doing and doing a decent job of it. Even though there could be room for more improvements later down the line. 8/10

Movie Review - Inside Out 2

I guess a sequel to the first makes sense here. I mean, for the most part, this franchise is all about the subject of growing up and with ...
