It's not often that we see mods from games, become games themselves. This one, for example, was originally a mod for Skyrim which gained much praise from a lot of people and despite harsh working environments with its development, it eventually became a game of itself. It was part of September's Humble Choice bundle, and it's a little interesting in places. So let's have a look:
The game begins in the present day where the protagonist, wakes up from being saved from floating down the Tiber River in Italy. The mysterious person who saved the player character, then asks them to find her friend who has disappeared while investigating the nearby ruins. The player character goes there and discovers that there was once a city that was largely unknown to exist by many, and the player character is then sent to the city during the Roman Empire. Strange mysteries occur and other things happen too, as the player is tasked with figuring out just how this city came into existence and find a way home.
This game, while pretty simple and straight forward to play, has a lot of moral questions, and It's pretty complex in a good way. It's clear that a lot of work went into this, especially when it was just a mod for Skyrim, and it looks well-made and plays well. But leaves us questioning everything that occurs in the game. They even make an effort to tell content creators like myself to not spoil the game too much, which is a nice touch and shows that they care a great deal for this game. 8/10
