Top 10 Hottest Women in Gaming

Before I start, I know that this is a very unoriginal top 10 to do, especially as it's been done to death. However, I've been wanting to do this for a while and as there isn't really any video games that deserve my attention right now, it felt like the perfect time to do this. Everyone on this list is my personal preference and it will be based on how they perform, their looks and their character development in the games that they are in. Also, the characters listed will be ones that I have heard of, know a bit about and have either played or seen footage of the games that they are in and it will be a mix of protagonists, antagonists and supporting characters, but don't expect all 3 of them to be in this list:

10: Princess Peach (Super Mario)
Now even though I do hate damsels in distress (and honestly, I think everyone does), I can't really criticise Princess Peach because everybody loves her a lot. Sure she may have to be rescued by Mario a lot of the time in the mainstream games, but in games like the Paper Mario and the Mario & Luigi games, there is a little bit of character development in her as she has to do some of the work as well, most of the time to help Mario find her but we also see a different side to her which is that she looks out for the Mario Bros even in their darkest times and on some occasions, she even looks out for Bowser. But her main priority is to look after the Mushroom Kingdom and we wouldn't have it any other way than that.

9: Princess Zelda (The Legend of Zelda)
Zelda is much like Peach in that she has to be rescued by Link in many of the LOZ games. She is a damsel in distress who has to relay on Link to rescue her, but its always because she is trying to protect the land of Hyrule when she does so. In the games, she is mainly a person of royalty but she is very unaware of that in the games where she is seen as a child, but gradually accepts the fact and is the known ruler of Hyrule, but as with most princesses, decides to keep the princess persona as it were. She does have a few alter egos which can allow her to be more adventurous and more willing to help in Link's many quests. We all love her and she is a very interesting character, when you start playing the games.

8: Carmelita Fox (Sly Cooper)
This might be me cheating a bit here seeing as the majority of the characters on this list are human, but I do like Carmelita so that's why she's on this list. She's a very interesting character as she has a funny accent which is weird because she seems to have a new voice actor in each game who produce a Spanish accent for her, for the most part anyway. She is Sly's love interest but for most for the games, she just wants to bring him into custody for stealing items of value, but it isn't until Thieves in Time where we see a much different side to her than before where she shows feelings for Sly for the whole game, but still being angry with him for all the right reasons, but not going too far with it. I think she is one of the franchise's most popular characters, especially for her inconsistent accent in her voice, which I for one like.

7: Aqua (Kingdom Hearts)
Believe it or not, Aqua is the only character on this list to be a Japanese character (and I am aware that Peach and Zelda were made by Japanese developers, but I honestly don't see them as Japanese characters as most people would). Aqua is one of the three main protagonists in Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and with her being a Keyblade wielder, she has a lot of responsibilities. She along with her fellow colleagues and friends, Terra and Ventus, share the same dream of becoming a Keybalde Master and she cares a lot for the other 2. Her dream does come true and later on, she is tasked to travel to various Disney worlds to keep an eye on her friends and to make sure that they don't get into any trouble. Of all the female characters in the game, I find Aqua to be the strongest because she worked harder than any other keybalde wielder during the time before she enters that Realm of Darkness and she continues to do just that. Kari and Namine are good and all that, but all you ever hear or see them do, is advise the keyblade wielders and be the damsels in distress, whereas Aqua is different and I can't put it any other way than that.

6: Elena Fisher (Uncharted)
Elena Fisher is in my opinion, the female version of Uncharted's main protagonist Nathan Drake. The only difference between the 2 is that Elena can be the damsel in distress at times, but is very physically fit and is ready for any kind of trouble and obstacles. Even though that they share the same knowledge in things, I think Elena is in a way smarter than Drake when it comes to getting out of sticky situations. Honestly it was out of her or Chloe who is also very attractive, but it will always be Elena for me personally in Uncharted.
5: Madison Paige (Heavy Rain)
Now I will take into account that Madison isn't the hottest person on this list, but I have seen her in action and felt that there shouldn't be any other reason for her to be on here. When she is first introduced in Heavy Rain, we see that she suffers with some kind of insomnia which is normally triggered when she's in her apartment alone and it seems to always show the same thing where some robbers would come into the apartment to steal stuff and do terrible things to her. As such, she occasionally goes to stay in some motels to put her mind of it. She somehow gets connected to the Origami Killer case when she meets Ethan Mars and conducts her own investigation. In a way, she is much like Elena in that she is a journalist, she sticks with the protagonist until the end (which includes tending to his wounds and should the player trigger it, go into a relationship with him) and should she survive the majority of the game, she is the one that has the most information than everyone else in some sense. As I said, she isn't the best looking in the game, but she is a very strong character in the game that she is in, even if she doesn't show it.

4: Miranda Lawson (Mass Effect)
Now picking the hottest woman in Mass Effect is hard work because there are a lot of them. In the end, it was out of the Asari scientist Liara T'Soni or as Jack would put it, the Cerberus cheerleader Miranda Lawson. In the end, I went for Miranda. Miranda is one of those characters that acts as if she wants control, but deep down, she just wants the best for everyone. She was the one who oversaw Shepard getting reconstructed and she wanted to put some sort of chip inside him, but the consequences would cause Shepard to be completely different than before so her boss The Illusive Man, told her to leave it. She cares a lot for her sister Oriana, but hates the way that their father have treated them, especially when working for Cerberus. But in the end, all that Miranda wants is to see her sister safe and to help Shepard any way she can during the fight against the Collectors and the Reapers. I do find her to be quite attractive and also a very strong character in the series and that's why she is my favourite out of all the Mass Effect girls, but the others are also great in their own way too.
3: Sonya Blade (Mortal Kombat)
For the most part, Sonya is the only MK character to actually have a normal face compared to most of the other females in the game who all have a mask on their faces to cover those big wide and deadly mouths, but that's not necessarily a good thing. I like Sonya because she is quite attractive and good looking, she worked for the Earthrealm Special Forces meaning that she is a very strong if not controlling character and with all the toughness that she has, she also cares a lot for her friends which shows during the campaign modes of the games that she is in. She does have a variety of different moves in the games and she is one of the best characters in the games and I wouldn't put it any other way.

2: Samus Aran (Metroid)
Now believe it or not, no one (not even me) expected Samus to be a woman and when it came to that ending in the very early games of the Metroid series, we were all shocked by it. However it did not put us off from seeing her in action. Samus is a very strong character in the Metroid games. Unlike the other Nintendo girls, she can look after herself, she's always prepared for action and even without her big suit of armour as it were, she's still awesome. As with all bounty hunters, she gets hired by what the game calls, the Galactic Federation and does various missions for them for the good of the galaxy as it were. She never gives up and is always psychically fit, even when she has the armour on her and we love her for it.
1: Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
Now a lot of top 10s like this have got Miss Croft at number 1 and when I actually did this list, I was struggling to find any woman that is more hotter and good looking than Lara Croft and in the end, it became very clear that there isn't a single woman that is more hotter, good looking and stronger than Lara Croft. But which version of her do I prefer. Honestly, I prefer the 2013 look of her. Sure the other games have a good looking Lara Croft there, but I find this one to be more attractive and hotter than her predecessor. She is very determined to find treasure, she shows feelings for her friends which she wants to look after a lot and as with all characters in the role she has, she always wants to make sure that whatever treasure she gets whether it be good or bad, does not fall into the wrong hands. We all love her for what she does and I look forward to more of her adventures (preferably the gaming ones as the films aren't always that great).
