Lots of us have that nostalgia of old films and TV shows where you had this announcer telling people what's happening. Not many of the new stuff have that and many of us miss those days even though a few like myself, didn't exist back then and we were just introduced to those things by our parents and friends. There was a certain charm to it and it was a good way to get us pumped and interested as opposed to reading and having a guy with a boring and uninterested voice narrating. Of course, we also enjoy those adventure like films and TV shows and so with this game, we get both and its done reasonably well. Let's take a look:
A long time ago, the Sahara part of Africa was ruled by a queen who became too brutal and barbaric that her people overthrew her and sent her into an unnamed tomb. Then in 1930, an explorer unknowingly releases her spirit at the cost of his own life. To prevent an outbreak, a group of Secret Service agents known only as the Strange Brigade arrive to eliminate the old queen before all manner of speaking break loose. With a choice of characters (each with their own set of skills) and played from a third-person perspective with an emphasis on co-op, you play as one of the explorers either alone or with some friends to fight against various mythological enemies with a large arsenal of upgradeable weapons at your disposal. You can also activate traps to deal with enemies, solve a number of puzzles and discover relics and treasure.
I went into this game thinking that its not really going to be any good. Sure it's not at all innovative, but it is nostalgic in almost every way as it feels like a homage to the 1930 adventure films and way of narrating. Definitely worth playing with friends, but expect some of the usual stuff you see in video games like this. Still fun though. 7/10
