AC14: Random TV Season Review - Elves (Season 1)

Netflix have been doing pretty well this year in gaining plenty of new original shows and films where it's non-English. I guess they were really serious when they got Squid Game out of wanting more foreign programming on their platform. Now Christmas horrors are not unheard of as there are a few out there. But compared to the amount of romantic comedies and fantasies set around Christmas, there is a lack of horrors. So here we have another Christmas horror which takes the idea of elves and well you can probably guess the rest from there. Let's take a look:

A Danish family of four, decide to spend the holidays on an island. Josefine (played by Sonja Steen) becomes curious of the island's mysteries and begins investigating them against the wishes of her overly protective parents. What follows is events that force the family to come together and help the human inhabitants in their fight for survival against some deadly creatures.

Got to be honest, some parents can be very overprotective and for good reason. But the parents in this series are very overly protective and are your typical "don't believe you" type of parents. That aside, I like the dark themes that this series presents and although the dubbing can come across as unbelievable, its pretty obvious what's going on to some degree. Not sure if this will get a season 2, but be interesting if it did. 7/10
