Random TV Season Review - The Witcher (Season 3)

The show, that allowed avid gamer Henry Cavill to play the lead role, returns with a third season. Based largely on the second book of the series, Time of Contempt, it's going to feel strange seeing Liam Hemsworth take over Cavill's role going forward, but who knows if that will be good or not. He's a man that gave Superman a new sense of popularity, and he's pretty good-looking too. Perhaps one of a few muscular actors who actually looks like he put the work into it instead of using drugs or unrealistic workouts. Anyway, let's see what awaits us in this season:

I should also point out that I haven't yet seen the two spin-off series yet. But I will do. Lots of people are currently after Ciri (reprised by Freya Allan), so Geralt (reprised by Cavill) takes her into hiding as he finds some determination to protect his newly formed family from those that dare try to destroy it. Including the likes of monarchs, mages, beasts and many other things out there in this fantasy world they all live in.

It may be Cavill's final time as Geralt, but this season allows him to retain his gruff charm and allows his farewell to be very fond indeed. But despite that, it's a very plotty series that has probably way too much plot in some episodes. But just enough to keep us invested in what lies ahead for the series beyond Henry Cavill's time. 7/10
